​I’m English by birth, American by choice & circumstance, and a storyteller rather later in life than I expected.

​

Along the way I've been a musician, pilot and horseman. I've also developed a longstanding fascination with people and the sometimes extraordinary choices they make. As a professional ethnographer for many years, I can't help it.

​

EVA is my debut novel.

​

I didn't set out to become a novelist. I began with a character I couldn't quite get out of my head, and before long she'd acquired a husband, a family, a remarkable collection of friends, and nearly forty years of adventures.

​

Somewhere in the process, I discovered that I rather liked writing.

​

These days I live in the United States with my wife and our dogs, who contributed very little to the manuscript but provided excellent company.

​

I'm currently enjoying the adventure of introducing EVA to the world, meeting readers, and discovering what happens when a story you've lived with for so long finally belongs to someone else.

​

And yes, there are more stories waiting to be told. Which character would you like to explore next?

EVA was written over the course of a year, mostly on my sofa, with two fingers, a laptop and the occasional assistance of a Labradoodle or two. The visual experiments came later.
