IS EVA RIGHT FOR YOUR BOOK CLUB?
EVA may be a strong fit if your group enjoys emotionally substantial fiction that is willing to be sexually candid, humorous and sometimes surprising. The novel explores desire, jealousy, consensual non-monogamy, ageing, grief and the changing shape of a long marriage.
EVA is not written as erotica. It is a forty-year relationship novel about what happens when two people promise to tell each other the truth, even when that truth takes them somewhere neither expected.
If your club enjoys frank, provocative fiction that sparks arguments about marriage, freedom, honesty and possession, EVA is likely to give you plenty to talk about.
If your group prefers fiction without adult sexual content, EVA is unlikely to be the right choice.
